DONE!

This, unfortuanely is my last post on my blog. Overall, I had a great time expanding my horizons on the aspect of technology. I'm sure that I will use a lot of these different programs in the future. My favorite project was by far the photostory project. It allowed me to tell other people about me and I've used the program before. After all the hard work that I put into this class, I sure hope that I get an excellent grade. I feel that I really busted my hump for myself, my team, and my fellow classmates. I'm sad to see this end, but hopefully, I can teach these kinds of programs in the near future. See Ya!

Week of Nov. 22nd

This week, we finally finished our video of "The Adventures of Robbie the Recycling Bin". Here is the link.

It's a really cheesy video but we had fun with it. Also, my partner Thad and I worked on our chapter reading. We had chapter 8 which is "Diagrams, Maps, and Webs." This was a pretty easy assignment, we went through the book and just pulled out important information. We then made it look really nice and it is currently on my website. Feel free to look at it!
Next week we have our collabrative blog, and website due. This should be fun. I'm excited to make another website! Have a good Thanksgiving!

Nov. 15th-19th

This week in class, we started working on our movie maker production. Since our project is recycling, we decided to use a recycle bin travel all over the world to see if everyone is recycling. Its a really neat project and I can't wait to see the finished product. We also just finished up out podcasts. They are both located on my website http://www.student.lhup.edu/tkoser/. We also got a chance to talk with Professor Hossain today through Skype. It was good hearing her voice again and it was great that she asked how we wer doing. I look forward to putting the final video of "Robbie the Recyling Bin" on my blog sometime next week.

Nov 8th-12th

This week in lab, we finally finished up our collabrative concept map. It is now posted on our group blog. The link will be posted at the very end of this post. Also, I finally got my photostory done last week and you will be able to see it now. This week in the lab we started talking about Audacity and Movie Maker. I am familiar with Movie Maker because I used it in high school for projects. I am, however, interested working more with Audacity. It seems like a really cool program and I can't wait to start using it. My website is also starting to come together the way I want it to. If you are interested in seeing my website, the link will be at the end of the post along with the link to our collabrative blog.

October 23-29

This week I was able to complete my poster project in Microsoft Publisher. It took me some time but I finally got it the way I like it (it will be attatched at the end of the post). Also I am getting ready to finish my Digital Story Telling project that is made by the Photo Story 3 program. I've used Photo Story before so the program itself and the technology are not new. Photo Story is a great way to make a quick video using still shots and other pictures. Look for it to be posted sometime next week. I hope it turns out great! Also, I really enjoy the freedom of not having a set "class". I feel that this will really help me in the future as an educator because you have the responsibiltiy of doing things on your time. I feel that this is a great chance for me to improve those skills.

Microsoft Publisher Lab

Microsoft Publisher Logo
This week in lab we worked with the program Microsoft Publisher. We will use this program to complete our group project. I wasn't aware of all the different things you can do with Publisher. I have worked a little bit with Publisher in the past but not very much. This was a refresher in some ways and in other ways it opened my eyes to new projects that I can do with this program. The best part is that not only do you get to express yourself anyway that you want, but it is very simple! I was shocked of how easy it was that I could throw in some information and then have it turn out to look so professional. I feel that this program will definately be of use to me in the future. I can make business cards, posters, booklets, and so much more. I look foward to using this later on in my classroom and my overall career.

Google Docs-Lab #3

Today we learned how to use Google docs. The link to Google docs is below.
Instead of sending emails with attachments, this is a quick and easy way to send email docs instead.  Everyone that you invite can look at the document, comment, edit, and also chat with others that are viewing the domument.  In the end we made our profile info into a booklet. as you can see in my picture. I think that Google docs is very innovative and is much more safer than sending regular emails with attatchments. It is also more convienient and much more organized. I think that I will definitely use Google docs in the future.

Here is the link for Google docs.

WebQuest!

This week in class, we started working on WebQuests. I decided to do my webquest on hockey for beginners. If you are interested in seeing here is the website, here is the link to my page http://www.student.lhup.edu/tkoser/WebQuest/Hockey%20for%20Beginners.htm. I feel like I did a really nice job on it. Not only did i naje a student page but i also have a link to the teacher page. You can simply navigate to that page by going to the teacher page link on the webstie. I feel that this kind of technology can be really helpful in the future to me as an educator. The possibilites are endless for teaching with technology and I really look forward to using this progam in the future.

My Concept Map

Hey everyone! So far this class is really teaching me a lot of stuff about the technology that is out there. I really enjoyed using Inspiration for our indiviual concept map. There are really endless possibilities of what can be achieved. This is my individual concept map that I created using Inspiration 8. The concept map is part of our collabrative project about recycling. I once made my own paper in high school and used my concept map to illlustrate it. I think that this program can help everyone, from teachers to students. They can really use this program to be creative and organized at the same time. This concept map isn't the most elaborate map but I think that the possibilities are endless. I can't wait to learn about some other programs that can help me in the future.

Introduction

Hey everyone! First off I just want to introduce myself. My name is Tyler Koser. I graduated from a small high school called Penns Valley Area High School in 2008. I enrolled in Lock Haven University in the Fall of 2008 as a Health and Physical Education major. I'm still a HPE major and I'm loving every minute of it.

I decided to be a Health and Physical Education major because I really enjoy working with kids. I always loved PE when I was in high school so I decided to take up this major. Plus, I love playing sports and being physically active, so I just felt that this major was a perfect fit for me.

As far as technology goes, I feel like I'm pretty good with it. I can do basic tasks like work with Microsoft Office, browse my pictures and music, and other tasks of that nature. I feel pretty comfortable when it comes to technology, although it can be frustrating at times!

I have taken one online class before. It was a basic music class. I took it the spring semester of my freshman year. It was an okay class. The thing that I liked most about the class is the freedom that I had in the class. I could decide when to do the work throughout the week. I think that if I had to choose again, I would still take it as an online class because let's face it, I'm not really into listening to Beethoven on a regular basis.

Last, but not least, one interesting fact about me is that my brother and I share the same birthday. We are six years apart to the day. June 23rd to those that are that interested when our birthday is.

I look forward to doing blog every week and reading really interesting things about everyone in class.
